![]() but it doesn't work at all so if you're trying to host a forge server you're just shit outta luck because Rocketnode requires a server.jar file to start the server, but newer forge modpacks don't include a server.jar file, they include a run.bat or a powershell script to start the server (The specific one I'm talking about in this instance is Medieval MC Forge for version 1.19.2). They have a version changer to change your server to a vanilla server, forge server, etc. I'm still looking for a good server host, but what I can say is to avoid Rocketnode at all costs, they absolutely suck for modded minecraft and I've had nothing but problems with them. I spent 25 minutes, found a better deal than gportal, set up a new server using the exact same files from the failing gportal setup, and it hasn't crashed once. One particularly offensive situation was when I sent them the network trace and showed them that their file host was what was dropping the connection, they told me that sounded right but nobody else had reported it so that couldn't be the problem, and didn't look further. I eventually convinced one of the representatives that it will cost their company more for the chargeback and they escalated my ticket, but a week later it was closed with no activity. I had been asking for a refund since the 10th day of the billing cycle, but they told me they would only do refunds if I had used less than 7 days of the service, and even when the service didn't work for my entire billing cycle, they refused to give me a refund. I was putting in tickets during the entire billing cycle and it still didn't work at the end of it. I was asking for help since before my final billing cycle. Stay away.Įdit 2: My server was crashing repeatedly for a month and a half. Do not use Gportal as a host.Įdit: I just saw Gportal failed to pay their taxes in 2023 and are not actually an active company. It feels like I'm back in middle school and I'm pretty close to pulling my hair out.įurther, the server restarts or kicks all players 3-4 times a day. Every time I put in a ticket about my server restarting randomly they ignore my actual questions and pick apart my messages to try to invalidate them. Aternos: In the end the server.pro queues won and we switched back to Aternos! Well Aternos as you probably know have all minecraft versions available (modded and not), with very low queue times (usually mine is 4 minutes), without any need to renew or something, it is easily accesible from your phone, with a user-friendly interface, and just have one con (?).To be honest I haven't got any lags recently (last month) in Aternos, well it might be the fact that I am playing on peculiar versions (1.7.The people who do support for Gportal appear to be literal children. Last and the less important is that the settings are changed manually (which is not as a big deal as it sounds). Moreover you have to renew (just completing a captcha to show that you are still playing) every one-hour. Due to the carantine the queues are usually 5 hours (depending on when you wanna play. As for cons: It supports all minecraft versions, as well spigot and bukkit, but doesn't support modpacks. well that is the only pro I can think of but is a good one. Starting with the good ones: It doesn't lag, we were playing an adventure map with LOTS of mobs spawned and it were doing absolutely fine. Server.pro: This was the choice we ended with. It got rejected before the server even opened, because it only supports the latest version for minecraft!!!! (I don't know any other performance details except for that one) Minehut: Recently one of my friends had some problems connecting to Aternos server's so we searched for a new server host. ![]() ![]() The other 2 hosting services I know are 'minehut' and ' server.pro '. (#spoiler) = neat! (/rose) = ( full list)įirst of all I have to state that Aternos is the the best service out there. ![]() News Builds Gameplay Maps Tutorials Redstone Command Blocks FanArt Comment Formatting Use the wiki or community support for questions that can be answered there.Explain your suggestions with a text post.Don't promote illegal or unethical practices.Don’t advertise servers or communities.Trails & Tales 1.20 FAQ | Login/Stolen Account Problems | Technical Problems On /r/Minecraft ![]()
